Another resource to support you as the parent/guardian of a high school student is the Subject Area Practice Test site. By clicking here, you will be redirected to the Subject Area Practice Tests resources available on the Mississippi Department of Education's website. These practice tests can familiarize your student with the techniques used during the actual state testing. Just as students prepare to take his/her Driver's License test, so can students prepare to pass the necessary Subject Area tests, as well.
Remember, your student's attendance records, grades, discipline, and more are available to you online through InformationNow. If you need access, please call Rachel Westbrook, the NCHS Counselor, at 601-635-4261.
On-campus family involvement opportunities are also available to you. WatchD.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) is a safe school initiative currently in place at NCHS. Fathers, father-figures, and community leaders are invited to sign-up to be a part of this POSITIVE family involvement opportunity. More information is available by clicking-WatchD.O.G.S. To sign-up for WatchD.O.G.S. or volunteer through our M.O.M.S. initiative, please contact the Parent Center at 601-635-4902 or email: email@example.com.
We encourage students to listen to the daily announcements. If your student is not able to hear the morning announcements, please call the High School office at 601-635-3347.
In closing, with the popularity of electronic devices among students, please continue to monitor the apps, links, and games, as there is now a new face to "stranger danger" among the youth of today. If you have any questions on who or what may be behind the screen of some of the apps, please call the Parent Center at 601-635-4902 for trusted websites that can direct you to valuable information.
